Not that I don't like emoticons...but is this a good or bad thing here??? Thanks for stopping by and AT LEAST saying something! I hope you are well, Sir!--Mike
I was just wondering if you are against regular birth control as well? Some people are and some aren't. I know where you stand on this Plan-B stuff which is pretty much where I am on it. -Heather
Heather-Good question. I am not opposed to the birth control pill, as it prevents ovulation in the first place, making it impossible for the egg to become fertilized by the sperm. Therefore, conception is never acheived. The very word contraception means 'non-conception.' Emergency contraception, on the other hand, is a misnomer in that conception has already taken place. What it really is is aborting a fertilized egg, and therefore a life. Very good question, though, and I hope this helps in understanding my reasoning in separating the two. The only time I would oppose the 'legitimate' birth control pill is when it is given to irresponsible teenagers. Case in point: I argued with my ex-wife about giving my (then) 14 year old stepdaughter "the pill" because I knew how irresponsible she was (and, being so old-fashion, I thought she was too young to be sexually active)---she couldn't even keep track of her school books. However, since I was not her "Dad," she was placed on the pill despite my protests. Next thing you know, we were being asked "Have you seen my pills?" Needless to say, she became pregnant at the ripe old age of 15. Normally I get some satisfaction when I am right...not this time!Thanks!--Mike
