I have thought about that section in Joel as well. But my understanding is that the term judgement means one big war. It will be a victorious Israel over just about everyone. That doesn't necessarily mean to me that Israel begins by occupying all of that land. But I don't know. Here's my take on the Gaza withdrawal. I believe it's purely for security reasons (not my original idea, it was from another commentary). His tactics are two-fold here: (1) to withdraw from Gaza - which they can't keep protected - and (2) to build the wall. Where they have built the security wall it has dropped terrorist attacks dramatically. I can't imagine Sharon dismantling the very settlements he created without a plan to back it up. And this one makes sense to me. He also has been able to gain some Palestinian support for peace - and that's what it's all ultimately about. We'll see where it goes. I support the withdrawal plan, but I'm far from an expert. sharptalk

Sharp-thanks for your input. I agree with you on the victorious Israel over just about everyone else being the judgment on others, but on those who divide Israel, well, that's a different matter. Whatever the PM's reasons for doing it, it is, in my humble opinion, still negotiating with terrorists and "dividing Israel." Thanks again foir your thoughts, and for stopping by.-Mike

Hey Righty, you ,like Robertson are a pompous ass. Predicating contemporary actions on biblical interpretations is meaningless and misguided and does nothing to advance the human spirit. Entrail readers like you are throwbacks to antiquity and add nothing of value to current dialogue.

Although I don't see it up here yet, Toadie, I received your second comment also. See, this is why liberals will never win the culture war: instead of intellectual argument, you chose to attack personally. This is a sad form of argument, but when there is no intelligent basis for debate, I guess you just do what you can. I must have been really drunk during the crusades, because I haven't the foggiest recollection of ever even being there. Regrettably, I am afraid that responding here is a waste of my screen, so I will close-Mike

Toadie-One other thing I feel compelled to say. Before you commented here, I had never seen your blog, and now that I have, I will never see it again. Anyone who calls the United States of America "supposedly the greatest nation on Earth," is not worthy of my time. I see that as total disrespect and blatent anti-Americanism, and you sir are no longer worthy of my time. Adieu--Mike

I have equal contempt for your political and religious stances. I find little of interest in your blog to ever return again.
