Founders' Quote Daily

"His Example is now complete, and it will teach wisdom and virtue
to magistrates, citizens, and men, not only in the present age,
but in future generations, as long as our history shall be read."

-- John Adams (message to the U.S. Senate, 19 December 1799)

 On Replying To Comments

I am leaving to go get my kids for a 3.5 day weekend. I will try to reply to comments if time allows, or if I have more sleepless nights.

If I don't reply immediately, it is not that I am lacking opinions (hard to believe, right?). It simply means that I am trying to enjoy the time that the corrupt Kentucky court system says I can have with my girls.

Have a great weekend everyone, if I don't "talk" to you till Monday or Tuesday.

Mike

 Patriot Post Daily

Every morning, I get an email from PatriotPost.US, which contains, as the name implies, a quote from famous (and some not-so-famous) American patriots. I have decided that it would be a good idea to repost them here, as they remind us of the duties and beliefs which have made this country the GREAT nation that it is. Here is today's:

The Patriot Post
Founders' Quote Daily

"They are of the People, and return again to mix with the People,
having no more durable preeminence than the different Grains
of Sand in an Hourglass. Such an Assembly cannot easily become
dangerous to Liberty. They are the Servants of the People, sent
together to do the People's Business, and promote the public
Welfare; their Powers must be sufficient, or their Duties cannot
be performed. They have no profitable Appointments, but a mere
Payment of daily Wages, such as are scarcely equivalent to their
Expences; so that, having no Chance for great Places, and enormous
Salaries or Pensions, as in some Countries, there is no triguing
or bribing for Elections."

-- Benjamin Franklin (letter to George Whatley, 23 May 1785)

Mr. Right Opinion's observation: funny how things change, isn't it?
